Many delicacies are an acquired taste; caviar, es cargo, gourmet cheese, beer and wine. Most anyone can enjoy a fine dining experience, us included. Although, it seems these days around our house, the acquired taste is for anything burned; meats, breads, tortillas, veggies...you name it. Because I don't think the extra distractions will end, and because we can't quite grow accustomed to the smoke alarm, maybe I should start using the kitchen timer.
You get major props for even being in the kitchen, Jenn, let alone cooking for family and friends :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks! The encouragement goes a long way :)
ReplyDeleteHA. I know EXACTLY what you mean. Ay. I've burned so many things since having kids (but especially in the beginning ... trying to cook and entertain the baby seemed virtually impossible for so long!) - you're not alone!
ReplyDeleteIn fact, I burned up some chicken so bad on the stove about 3 weeks ago that I even ended up throwing out the pan! So, I wish I could say it gets better, but I'm not sure it has for me! LOL.
I agree w/ Sharon - the fact that you're even trying is an accomplishment! ;) Hang in there!
Ha! Don't worry... at some point, you become accustomed to the distractions!
