with me you will know that the cinnamon roll is one of my all-time favorite treats! I am particular (to say the least) about them and I really only love my own but the next best are the rolls from Cinnabon, Corner Bakery, IKEA and Black Cow...in that order. Well, anyway, my love for cinnamon rolls has not ended but my freedom to eat them has.Jonathan has been experiencing some digestion discomfort in the past week or two so the doctor along with running some tests for allergies and sensitivities has put me on a restricted diet. I am not able to eat soy, eggs, wheat, nuts, milk and citrus (or anything made with them). YIKES, is right!
It has certainly made me have to be more creative and thanks to Trader Joe's there are some good options that remain within the guidelines. Since doing this diet, which I began last Thursday, I have a much happier and comfortable baby. So, it seems to be all worth it...did you see the pictures in the above post? Just remind me of that when I have to skip the stuffing and apple pie at Thanksgiving.
major bummer, Jenn. The sanctifying work of parenthood at it's best! Not that there's anything unsanctified about a cinnamon roll...I just mean the "dying to self" part and all...
ReplyDelete(maybe you could try to "pump ahead" for Jonathan's post-thanksgiving feeding?)
(Reposting my comment ... minus the typo I had before.)
ReplyDeleteOh NOOOO! What a pain. Ugh. With Brenna I had to cut out all dairy, and that was bad enough! Boo! Here's hoping they can identify a specific sensitivity so that you don't have to maintain that strict of a diet.
I agree, though, those smiles are worth everything! :D (I have to remind myself of this during my many, many sleepless nights w/ Brogan. Ha.)
Hang in there!
(P.S. The "pumping ahead" idea is a good one!)
We are praying for you guys! Sorry that you have to limit your diet so much, Jenn. Hopefully Baby Jonathan will feel better in no time:)
ReplyDeleteYou should talk to Whitney if you get a chance. She had to go through a very similar situation with Noah and things are MUCH better now. All that hard work paid off! :)We can't wait to see you guys...just a few more days. :) Love you.
Thanks everyone for your empathy and suggestions!
